About Us

In 2020, my very independent dad fell through a roof, and my mom’s Parkinson’s took a drastic downturn. I spent a year running back and forth to their home, doctors, and hospital. We tried keeping them in the house they had just finished building with caregivers, moving them to assisted living, and ultimately closer to me with caregivers.

We found some AMAZING caregivers along the way, but most were poorly trained and even more poorly compensated. We also dealt with significant absences. I began looking into how to provide the highest quality care for older family members AND create valued caregivers. Ethical Caregiving was born by connecting these two goals. Dementia care is our specialty.

In July of 2024, Charlotte Long took over Ethical Caregiving. She strives to maintain the high standard of care associated with this company through a most impressive roster of caregivers. “I admire every one of our caregivers so much. I was truly surprised to discover that they are ALL highly qualified for this work because of their good character - mature, hard-working, reliable, conscientious, capable, confident, creative, and so big-hearted.

They are the reason that our business works. They are team players; helping each other by volunteering for substitute requests and explaining what care is needed for that client, and training new caregivers. I feel confident for our clients with every one of them.”
